It’s not magic

At the start of the year, I set a goal to grow my care plan roster by 12. However, with everything on my plate, there’s no way I’m building 12 websites this year — so that means I’d have to, somehow, bring on care plans for sites I didn’t originally build if I wanted to meet that goal.

To put it in perspective, over the 7-8 years I’ve been doing this, I’ve only picked up a handful of care plans this way. 12 would be a massive uptick.

I wrote the goal down — along with a statement on why I wanted to achieve that goal and a few ideas on how I could make it possible — shared it with a few people (which always makes it feel more real), and went about the start of my year just like I normally would.

Just 16 days into the year, I’ve already landed a care plan out of the blue, have another one that will close any day, and had a meeting with an agency looking to outsource all their maintenance that could blow my goal out of the water.

I’m not a ‘woo woo’ person tracking moon phases or clutching crystals (no judgement)… but I can’t ignore how often in my career, the simple act of setting a clear intention seems to make things happen.

Maybe it’s frequency bias in action (like when someone mentions a green car, and suddenly you start seeing them everywhere), or maybe it’s manifestation. Whatever it is, there’s something undeniable about deciding what you want and speaking it into existence.

This isn’t magic… The care plan I landed got referred to me. The one I’m working on closing found my website doing a simple Google search. The agency I connected with knows me from TAB.

Opportunities like this are more abundant than you might think. The challenge is, they’re not always obvious. The act of setting a clear goal, writing it down, and saying it aloud, has a way of tuning your frequencies to more easily spot opportunities that you might have passed by as if we’re only trying to keep our heads above water in the daily chaos of running your business.

I’m not trying to say if you make a wish it will come true, but it only makes sense that if you know what you’re looking for, you’re much more likely to find it.

Only time will tell if I’ll hit my goal for the year or not… and while I’m not quite ready to Google what “mercury in retrograde” means, I’d be crazy to not lean into this momentum.
