Meal planning, shopping, and cooking is one of the least fun parts of “adulting”. But with a family of 5, it’s a necessity.

I suppose we could just sit around, stomach’s growing, hoping the neighbors will have us over for a backyard BBQ. They might, but it’s out of our control, and there’s a good chance we starve waiting for the invite.

So, on repeat, we plan. We shop. We cook. Anything else is irresponsible.

But what about your agency? Are you feeding it, or sitting around waiting for someone to hand you a plate?

Every now and then, you get lucky and something drops in your lap. Maybe that’s been enough to keep your agency alive… But somedays its steak, and other days it’s mystery meat you choke down just to survive.

For our agencies, just like ourselves, we have to plan. We have to shop. We have to cook.

Most of us don’t like “marketing” our businesses. There are too many options. It’s overwhelming. Uncomfortable. Plus, who has the time?

But you don’t need a five-star meal plan — start with a sandwich.

Reach out to a past client and check on them. Send an email to someone you’d love to work with. Post one piece of content.

Even small steps — done intentionally and consistently — add up. Eventually you’re not waiting to be fed, you’re serving yourself.
